B.C. has been doing a tremendous job at ‘flattening the curve’ and remaining committed to taking this matter seriously. In order to keep this trend headed in the right direction, we all must remain vigilant and respect the advice of our health authority during this State of Emergency. We are very thankful to all of our customers, and to all of our staff, for the commitment to keeping our doors open and business moving during this trying time. Please stay safe and healthy, and let us know if you have any questions.
For the most part, we are ‘maintaining the course’ in terms of day-to-day operations. Most of our office staff continue to work from home, and the office will remain staffed at a bare minimum to keep risk of transmission low. We have provided our service technicians with a supply of hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes as well as access to both gloves and masks as required. The importance of frequent hand washing and social distancing measures has been discussed in depth with an understanding from each employee.
We can guarantee that your service technician will be healthy, symptom free and has not traveled outside of Canada within a minimum of 14 days prior to service.
Service Requests and Estimating
We are still able to provide service and estimate requests to meet your needs. However, we do ask that our technicians are not exposed to individuals that are showing any signs or symptoms of fever, cough or shortness of breath. Our technicians will need space to work in order to maintain 2 meters of social distancing. We will ensure we follow the same guidelines we ask of our customers.
Upon request of service, you may be asked if there are specific protocols that are set in place at your establishment. This is to provide our technicians with as much information as possible to adhere to your needs at this time.
Scheduled Preventative Maintenance
We are continuing to complete regularly scheduled preventative maintenance. If a maintenance is due, we have been calling prior to service to ensure we have proper access and the ability to abide by the social distancing rules. Upon request, we will reschedule service as needed.
As a company, we feel very fortunate to have both the personnel and the customers who have helped us remain in operation during this time. However, we are acutely aware of the impact this is having on an immense number of small, local businesses around us. Restaurants, who operate on thin margins and rely on patron volume, are being hit particularly hard. As a thank-you to our employees and in support of these establishments, we extended an offer: order take-out from a local (BC) restaurant, and ITC reimbursed up to $50 per employee.
On that note, buying gift cards for places you may normally visit but which have been forced to close is a great way to help them keep the lights on until they are able to reopen. Consider picking up early Christmas/birthday gifts or getting creative – these businesses really make Victoria the vibrant community that it is, and many are struggling right now.
